Product description
Single malt Longrow has been produced at the Springbank Distillery since 1973. It is a very smoky whisky, distilled from malt with a phenol concentration of 55 ppm.
Longrow Peated is the entry-level version of this malt , launched in 2012 as a successor to Longrow CV. While CV was a blend of spirits aged for 6, 10 and 14 years in various types of casks (bourbon, sherry, port and rum), Peated seems to be made from younger spirits, mostly from bourbon casks (both whiskies have no age statement).
Nose : very smoky, yet well-balanced, vanilla, caramel, apricots, oranges, bananas, pepper, traces of tobacco and leather and a hint of sea breeze.
Taste : smoky and malty, slightly hospital, vanilla cream, buttered toast, black coffee, lemon grass, green grapes, orange peel, pinch of salt and pepper,
Finish: quite long, clouds of peat smoke, salted caramel, vanilla and light fruit notes.
