Seagram's VO Blend was blended by Joseph E. Seagram in 1913 for his son's wedding.

It is difficult to say today whether the "VO" designation should be deciphered as "Very Old" or "Very Own", it was probably "whiskey for a special occasion". In 1928, the Bronfman family took over all of Seagram's assets and soon VO became one of the basic commercial offerings. It was produced at the Waterloo Distillery, and after its closure at the Gimli distillery. In 2001, Diageo took over the Seagram brand and moved its production to Valleyfield Distillery. In the fall of 2018, the Sazerac Company of New Orleans, the owner of Buffalo Trace Distillery, among others, purchased 19 brands from Diageo, including Seagram's VO Seagram's 83 and Seagram's Five Star for $550 million.

Aroma : cereal, slightly floral, dry flower petals, hay, a slice of rye bread, apples, pepper and some oak shavings.

Taste : slightly spirituous, rye bread toast, pepper, cardamom, ginger, lemon jam, notes of vanilla and oak.

Finish: not too long, with notes of pepper, lemon zest, ginger and oak.
