Jameson Caskmates, IPA Edition/ 40%/ 1.0l

Caskmates Stout Edition, the first marriage of Jameson whiskey and beer, was so well-received by the market that it was no surprise that the company soon offered another beer version, the IPA Edition.

A similar method was used in its production, but this time, barrels from standard Jameson whiskey were sent to a local microbrewery, where they were filled with IPA (Indian Pale Ale) beer. When the beer had absorbed the citrus notes of whiskey and was sent to the bottling plant, the barrels were returned to the distillery, where they were used for the final maturation, and consequently for the creation of Jameson IPA Edition, a whiskey enriched with beautifully incorporated notes of hops. 

Nose : apples, grapefruit, pine needles, roasted grain, garden herbs, hops, toffee, vanilla and a hint of cinnamon.

Taste : toffee, honey, breakfast cereals, lemon and orange peel, apples, cocoa, a touch of nutmeg, ginger and hops.

Finish : not too long, with notes of toasted cereal grains, vanilla, crème brûlée, pepper and hops.
