Product description
In 2021, Glenlivet recorded higher sales (18 million bottles) than its arch-rival, Glenfiddich, for the second time in its history (the first time was in 2014).
The expansion completed in 2018 increased distilling capacity to 21 million litres per year, making Glenlivet the largest single malt distillery in Scotland. The latest addition to the offer (summer 2022) is The Glenlivet Sample Room Collection. The Sample Room is described as a mecca of creativity, a place where barriers are broken and whiskies with new, unique aromatic and flavour bouquets are created. The Sample Room Collection consists of three whiskies - 18, 21 and 25 years old. The 21-year-old presented here, after basic maturation in traditional oak casks, was finished in fresh Oloroso sherry casks, Tronçais oak cognac casks and Colheita port casks.
Nose: fruity-sweet, ripe apricots and peaches, pears in syrup, cherries, toffee, honey-roasted nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg and intense notes of port.
Palate: some sherry and port, dried apricots and dates, black cherries, raisins and sultanas, honey, candied ginger, nutmeg and light oak tones.
Finish : quite long, with notes of sherry, port, sweet dried fruits, ginger, nutmeg, a pinch of pepper and oak.
