Product description
Springbank began operations in 1828 and was the fourteenth distillery in the Campbeltown region, which was known as the world capital of whisky in the 19th century (at the peak of its popularity, there were 34 distilleries operating there).
Springbank is the only distillery with roots dating back to the first half of the 19th century that remains in the ownership of the founding family and the only one that distills exclusively from malted barley on site. Since time immemorial, Springbank’s limited editions have been sought after by whisky connoisseurs and collectors, and this one, part of the Private Bottling series, is undoubtedly a highlight of any collection. Distilled in 1964, it was aged for around 35 years and bottled at 46% abv in 1999 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Swiss importer Lateltin Lanz Ingold.
