Product description
Kirker Greer Spirits is a relatively young player on the alcoholic beverages market – the company was founded in 2007 by Steven Pattison and Richard Ryan.
The company is based in Belfast, where Archibald Kirker and William Greer started in 1885. At the turn of the century, the original Kirker & Greer Company was a major producer and importer of Irish whiskey and owned the Connswater Distillery. Today, Kirker Greer Spirits owns and distributes 10 “brands,” including vodka, gin, rum, and whiskey. The Bowsaw Straight Bourbon featured here is distilled in Kentucky from a mash of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley, and aged in new, charred American oak barrels. (A “bowsaw” is a type of handsaw used by coopers to make barrels.)
Nose : vanilla pudding, toffee, caramel, fresh wholemeal, black pepper, hints of cumin and anise and toasted oak.
Palate: caramel, vanilla, rye bread toast, licorice, black pepper, mixed dried herbs, cinnamon, notes of leather and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, rye bread, cinnamon, pepper and toasted oak.
