Rebel Yell Straight Rye Whiskey / 45% / 0.7l

In the summer of 2005, Luxco Inc. expanded the historic Rebel Yell brand to include rye whiskey. The company was founded in 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri, by David Sherman and Paul Lux and operated as David Sherman Corporation until 2006.

In 2018, the company completed construction of its own distillery, Lux Row Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. Rebel Yell Straight Rye is a whiskey distilled at the MGP distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana from a mash of 95% rye and 5% malted barley and aged for at least two years. MGP is currently the largest supplier of rye whiskey, from where Bulleit Rye, George Dickel Rye, Redemption, Templeton and Ezra Brooks come.

Aroma : slice of wholemeal bread, dill, black pepper, lemon peel, gooseberries, apples, caramel, notes of mint and chamomile.

Palate : cinnamon rolls, caramel, a slice of wholemeal bread with butter, dill, a pinch of anise, black pepper, notes of vanilla and oak.

Finish: medium long, with notes of rye bread, black pepper and oak.
