Product description
In spring 2019, Balvenie Distillery announced a new whisky series, the Balvenie Stories Collection. Each of the three editions in the collection is accompanied by a story related to the history of the distillery and its employees.
The Week of Peat, the second part of the triptych and twin sister to Balvenie Peat Week, which debuted in autumn 2017, commemorates Ian Millar, the distillery’s former manager. In 2001, he made a short trip to Islay and, on his return, ordered a batch of peat (the distillery malts its own barley). A year later, Balvenie Distillery began distilling from malt with a phenol concentration of 30ppm. Balvenie The Week of Peat is aged in American oak barrels for 14 years and bottled at 48.3% abv.
