In 2014, Diageo included for the first time in its prestigious Special Releases edition a whisky bottled without an age statement.
It was Clynelish Select Reserve, the creation of Dr. Jim Beveridge, the master blender responsible for the Johnnie Walker brand. The whisky received excellent reviews and was again featured in Special Releases a year later . Although the label does not specify its age, we know that the youngest component was a 15-year-old distillate. As in the previous year, the whisky was aged in first-fill and refill bourbon and sherry casks, as well as in reconditioned casks. 2,946 bottles were released.
