Aberfeldy

Aberfeldy 12-year / 40%

A new edition (debuted in 2014 at Travel Retail) of Aberfeldy's classic 12-year-old single malt, put together from distillates aged primarily in white American oak barrels.

The distillery was built by John and Tommy Dewar between 1896 and 1898 in the village of the same name in Perthshire (southern Highlands). Aberfeldy is the malt backbone of Dewar's blends, only becoming more widely available as a single malt in the new century.

Aroma

rich and full-bodied with notes of vanilla, barley malt, raisins, caramel, lemon peel, honey and pineapple.

TASTE

fresh and balanced, vanilla, honey, citrus, green apples, apricots, a trace of lemongrass.

FINISH

medium-long with notes of citrus, mild bitterness of oak and spices.

Aberfeldy 21 Years Limited Release / 40%

The standard Aberfeldy 21 Years Old debuted in 2005, and almost a decade later the Limited Release Black was released.

The distillates used in it took on their heft in bourbon barrels, before being put into individually numbered bottles, which in turn came in attractive commemorative cases. The Aberfeldy distillery has been producing whisky since 1898. It is equipped with two pairs of alembics, and its production potential exceeds 3.5 million liters of alcohol per year.

Aroma

honeyed and fruity with notes of malt, citrus, vanilla, herbs, beeswax, ginger, moss and oak.

TASTE

mild, vanilla, honey, caramel, milk chocolate, oranges, eucalyptus drops, traces of oak, hay and herbs.

FINISH

long and pleasant with notes of sweet peaches, vanilla and honey.
