Product description
In spring 2017, Whyte & Mackay presented another blended malt dedicated to the memory of the polar explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton.
In 1907, Shackleton set out to conquer the South Pole equipped with, among other things, 25 cases of his favorite whisky, Mackinlay's Rare Old Highland Malt. The expedition was unsuccessful, but 100 years later, in 2007, the remains of a camp were discovered in the Arctic ice, along with three cases of whisky. The original drink turned out to be a single malt from the Glen Mhor distillery, a replica of which by Richard Paterson, the master blender of Whyte & Mackay, was released in 2011. The Shackleton Blended Malt presented here is also Mr. Paterson's creation, composed of single malts from the Highlands region.
