Bunnahabhain 12 years old will soon celebrate its 40th Anniversary. It was introduced in 1979 by Highland Distillers, then the distillery owners, and remains the brand flagship.
Since 2010 Bunnahabhain has been bottled without chill-filtration and with alcohol content elevated to 46.3%. Such approach more than doubled the brand sales and made Bunnahabhain much more appreciated dram. In 2017 the company redesigned the label and started bottling 12 years old expression as Small Batch. The whisky is now combination of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and traditional refill casks.
