Braunstein Destilleri, producer of Isfjord Arctic Single Malt, is located in Køge, just south of Copenhagen. Founded by Michael and Claus Braunstein in 2005 it has been producing whisky since 2007.
The distillery uses extremely pure and soft water from icebergs that naturally break from Greenland Ice Cap and drift in the sea. Water has been preserved in form of ice for 180 000 years hidden from the outside world and sealed from any pollutants. Isfjord Arctic Single Malt No. 2 is distilled from lightly peated barley malt and aged exclusively in first fill ex-bourbon casks. The whisky is cut with iceberg water to 42% abv prior to bottling.
