Chivas Regal is the best selling premium blended whisky with annual sales closing 4.2 million cases.
In 2018 the company increased the range with a couple of notable expressions such as Mizunara and the presented here XV. Chivas Regal XV is aged for a minimum of 15 years and “selectively finished” in Grande Champagne cognac casks. The name of the whisky refers to the cognac system, which tends to use letters such as VS or XO instead of ordinary age statements. Chivas XV is available in two different packaging designs – a gold bottle, designed to make the bottle stand out during the “moments of celebration” and a clear bottle contained in a gold presentation box. (Official tasting note.)
Nose: rich and sweet with concentrate notes of stewed red apples, homemade orange marmalade, honey, cinnamon and moist juicy sultanas.
Palate: incredibly smooth and fruity with flavors of poached pears intermingled with butterscotch and caramel toffee all rolled up in a wonderful velvety texture.
Finish: rounded of with a touch of vanilla on the finish.
