Motörhead Whisky is a tribute to Motörhead rock band and its bass player and front man Lemmy Kilmister († 2015). The whisky distilled in Mackmyra Distillery spent 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels and additional 6 months in ex-Oloroso sherry casks and was released with collaboration with Brands for Fans to mark “40 years of eardrum crushing”. Motörhead Whisky was introduced in 2015 and joined the band-themed beer, wine and vodka. The band members played an active role in cask selection before signing off on the whisky. Lemmy, in his own words described the band namesake whisky – “this one tastes fucking great!”.
