Product description
Glengoyne, which has been producing whisky since 1833, is a unique distillery.
The conventional boundary between the Highlands and the Lowlands runs through the property, meaning that the distilling buildings are “on the highlands” and the maturing warehouses are “on the lowlands”. Traditionally, the distillery has avoided using peat in its malting process, explaining that there is no peat bog in the area. The 17-year-old, a favourite of the distillery staff, remained in the company’s range for almost 3 decades (until 2012). At least 35% of the spirits used in its blend came from first and second fill sherry casks. The unique pear-shaped bottle presented here was used in the 1980s and 1990s.
