Product description
Glen Breton, Canada's first single malt, debuted in 2000. The whisky comes from the Glenora distillery in Nova Scotia, built between 1986 and 1990.
The first years of Glenora's history were a series of financial and production problems (the first batches of distillate were said to be of poor quality). The turning point came in 1993, when the plant was taken over by a businessman of Scottish origin, Lauchie MacLean, who employed the former manager of Glen Ord Distillery as the master distiller. Glen Breton Rare 14 years old, part of Glenora's basic offer, is a whisky aged in barrels made of white American oak. The distillery's warehouses are unheated, and low temperatures in winter slow down the maturation.
