Product description
In 2013, Highland Park Distillery, whose products increasingly refer to Orkney's Nordic roots, introduced The Warrior Series .
The whiskies included in it referred to regional heroes from the past, whose images adorned the packaging of the drinks. Ragnvald is a legendary sailor, nephew of Prince Magnus, who in his sea expeditions reached the Middle East and Asia, from where he returned with spices and fabrics unknown in Europe. The whisky bearing his name is composed of about 70% distillates aged in Spanish oak barrels, of which at least half are first-fill barrels.
Nose: fresh and fruity, plums, apricots, mango, marzipan, vanilla, mulled wine spices, notes of heather and pine resin, a hint of leather and peat smoke.
Taste: mild and sweet with clearly noticeable notes of spices, caramel, vanilla cream, apples, mango, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, a pinch of cocoa and distant traces of peat smoke.
Finish: long, sweetness combined with spices and shrouded in peat smoke.
