Product description
Dufftown is one of the larger malt distilleries in the Diageo portfolio, capable of distilling 6 million litres of alcohol per year.
Almost 95% of the production is intended for the company's blends (including Bell's and Johnnie Walker), but Singleton of Dufftown, which debuted in 2006, is gaining more and more supporters. The 15-year-old version hit the European market in 2011 and marked a step towards the premium segment compared to the standard 12-year-old. The whiskies used in the blend matured mainly in bourbon casks with a small addition of sherry casks.
Aroma : rich, yet mild, oranges, peaches, orange peel, vanilla, honey, traces of hay and oak chips.
Taste: pleasantly balanced, slightly nutty, oranges, cherries, milk chocolate, honey, sweet cereals, a pinch of pepper.
Finish: medium long, malty, sweet, honey-roasted nuts and a delicate peppery note.
