Glengoyne Distillery is located in the village of Dumgoyne, close to the famous Loch Lomond.
Since 2003, it has been owned by the private company Ian Macleod Distillers, which has expanded its commercial offer to include Vintage and single cask editions . The 1997 Vintage presented here is a whisky from first-fill and refill sherry casks, bottled in 2010 at 43% alcohol. The edition consisted of 6,000 bottles.
Aroma : mild, delicate tones of sherry, raisins, bananas, apples, caramel, honey, traces of allspice and a very faint smell of sulfur.
Palate: delicate, vanilla, honey, walnuts, apples, pink grapefruit, cinnamon, ginger and oak.
Finish : medium long, spicy, ginger, white pepper, apple pie with cinnamon and delicate oak bitterness.
