BenRiach Curiositas Peated Malt, 10 years old / 46% / 0.7l

In 2004, after a three-year production shutdown, Beriach Distillery welcomed new owners, Intra Trading.

Part of the deal was the storage, and since Benriach was more of a Chivas laboratory than a commercial distillery from 1977 to 2001, it experimented constantly with malts, distillation times and barrel types. Curiositas debuted in 2004 and remains a core offering to this day. The whisky was distilled from malt with a phenolic concentration of over 50ppm.

Aroma : an explosion of aromatic peat combined with notes of honey, citrus, lemon peel, cocoa and oak.

Taste : intense and complex, peat, fresh fruit, peaches and kasaba melon, nuts, oak and a pinch of spices.

Finish: long, peaty, with notes of smoked plums and barley flakes,
