Product description
Pinwinnie Royale is a long-discontinued blended whisky from the Inver House Distillers portfolio.
The company was founded in 1964 as a subsidiary of the American Publicker Industries based in Philadelphia. Pinwinnie Royale debuted in South Africa and appeared on the European market in the late 1970s. We do not know much about the formula of this blend, but we remember that in 1965 Inver House built the Moffat distillery complex, which housed the Garnheath grain distillery and two malt distilleries, Glen Flagler and Killyloch (these whiskies are now collector's rarities). In the years 1973-1983 Inver House also owned the Bladnoch Distillery based in Lowlands. We cannot say which of the whiskies mentioned above are in the blend presented here.
Aroma: delicately fruity with a breath of earth, apples, pears, vanilla, milk fudge, sweet cereals, notes of oak and hay.
Palate: mild, sweet cereals, biscuits, vanilla, toffee, baked apples, a pinch of cinnamon and a delicate bitterness of oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of cereal, vanilla, oak and a touch of spice.
