Product description
Redbreast is a fine single pot still Irish whiskey introduced in the 1930s by W. & A. Gilbey.
Its unusual name is most likely the idea of the company's president, a passionate ornithologist. The whiskey was supplied by Jameson Bow Street Distillery based in Dublin, and distribution was handled by the aforementioned W. & A. Gilbey. In 1986, the brand became the property of the Irish Distillers group and returned to the market five years later. It is currently in the Pernod Ricard portfolio, and the whiskey is supplied by Midleton Distillery. Redbreast 15 years old debuted in 2010, blended from distillates aged in bourbon and Oloroso sherry barrels and bottled at 46% alcohol without chill filtration.
