Product description
Glenlivet is, alongside Glenfiddich, the most popular single malt whisky in the world, although both ended 2020 with sales of around 14.5 million bottles.
Our cooperation with Glenlivet has been going great for years and in 2017 it resulted in the Blairick Hill edition, a 16-year-old whisky aged in a bourbon cask (now only a memory) and consequently our inclusion in the global program "The Glenlivet Single Cask Program". It gives us access to the best casks resting in the distillery's warehouses. In spring 2021, we decided to buy another cask, which, after our suggestions, was selected by the master distiller, Alan Winchester. Our choice fell again on a bourbon cask (no. 18104 filled on 5 June 2001), which was bottled for us at cask strength and without cold filtration after 20 years of maturation in September 2021. Its content translated into 162 bottles.
Nose : fruity and subtly floral, spring meadow, apples, peaches, pineapples, vanilla, honey, toffee, buttered croissant, coconut flakes and toasted oak.
Palate: honey, vanilla, milk fudge, ripe apples, pears and greengages, orange peel, lemon cake, coconut flakes, walnuts, lemongrass and a light bitterness of oak.
Finish : long, fruity, with notes of citrus, apples, pears, coconut, vanilla cream, toffee, honey and toasted oak.
