Octomore single malt debuted in 2008 and immediately achieved cult status.

It is distilled from barley with a phenol concentration of 80 to over 200 ppm. In 2015, the 250 ppm mark was exceeded (Octomore 06.3, 258 ppm), and just two years later the 300 ppm mark was broken). The whisky experiences annual limited editions, the fourteenth series hit the market in the summer of 2023. The first edition presented here is a whisky distilled in 2017 from 100% Scottish barley, the Concerto variety, harvested the previous year and malted to a phenol concentration of 128.9 ppm. The whisky was aged in first-fill bourbon barrels (American oak) and bottled at 59.6% abv.

Nose: smoke and soot, smoky vanilla, caramel, coconut flakes, lemon cake, traces of pine needles and a drop of tar.

Palate: peat smoke, vanilla cream, honey, caramel, pears, green apples, gooseberries, mirabelle jam, mocha, a hint of cloves and nutmeg and burnt oak.

Finish: medium long, smoky, with notes of vanilla, milk fudge, peaches, orange peel, sea salt and oak.
