Glen Moray Elgin Signature, 15 Year Old, American & Sherry Cask /unpacked/ 48% / 1.0l

In October 2018, Glen Moray Distillery introduced the Elgin Signature Series to its Travel Retail offering.

The range consists of three whiskies, including Elgin Signature Classic (no age statement), 12 years old and 15 years old. All three are bottled at 48% abv, non-chill-filtered and presented in one-litre bottles. According to Raphaele Delerue, global ambassador for Glen Moraya, “this new collection is deeply rooted in our age-old traditions – the whisky goes almost directly from cask to bottle, meaning it is offered in a purer form and at a higher alcohol content.” Elgin Signature 15 years old is a blend of distillates aged in Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks.

Nose: subtle notes of sherry, vanilla, toffee, honey, apricots, orange peel, raisins, mirabelle jam, cocoa, a pinch of pepper and oak.

Palate: slightly oily, nectarines, oranges, raisins, dark chocolate, honeyed nuts, vanilla, traces of pepper, cinnamon and sherry-soaked oak.

Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, raisins, prunes, dark chocolate, pepper, oak and sherry.
