Boulard is one of the oldest brands associated with the production of Calvados.

The beginning of the House of Boulard dates back to 1825, when Auguse Boulard opened its prestigious distillery in Pays d'Auge. The brand was one of the first to focus on the foreign market. Since the 20th century, it has been constantly expanding its reach. It has managed to do this, among other things, by introducing a pioneering double distillation at that time (1942). Its strong position on the market allowed it to influence the standardization, quality and protection of the product that is Calvados. It was on their initiative that the AOC Calvados Pays d'Auge was created, an appellation strengthening the unique territory and distillation methods characteristic of the region. Boulard XO is a marriage of distillates aged from 6 to 15 years. The master distiller makes sure that the harmony between the intense flavors of the older barrels does not dominate the fruity notes of the younger ones.
