Product description
The roots of the Black Bull brand date back to 1864 when it was registered by George Willshire, a Dundee grocer and spirits shop owner.
The original formula had a 50/50 malt to grain ratio, and the finished blend was released at 50% ABV. After a years-long hiatus, Black Bull whisky returned to the market in 2009 as part of the Duncan Taylor Ltd. 12-year-old range. The 12-year-old debuted in the early 1930s, and the modern version is a blend of single malts from the Highlands and Speyside regions aged in refill sherry and bourbon casks, and grain whisky from the Lowlands aged in bourbon casks. In 2011, it won a gold medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition.
