Hampden Estate is one of the oldest sugar cane plantations in Jamaica.
Founded in 1753 by Scotsman Archibald Sterling, it is still famous for its excellent quality, full-flavoured rums distilled in copper stills. Hampden rums are famous for their high level of esters, produced during fermentation using wild yeast, which results in a bouquet of the drink rich in fruit aromas.
Hampden Pagos is a limited edition of 1,200 bottles of rum matured in oloroso sherry barrels and Pedro Ximenez from Lustau, one of the leading producers of this type of fortified wine.
Nose : Solvent notes, esters, cherries, tropical fruits, pineapples, bananas, sherry notes.
Palate : Esters, sherry, fruits, pineapples, bananas, sherry, cocoa, roots.
Finish : Long, notes of oak, roots.
