Ararat Brandy has been produced since 1887 originally by Yerevan Brandy Co. and more recently by Ararat Brandy Co.
According to the current regulations, Ararat brandy can only be distilled from locally grown grape varieties, including: Voskehta, Garan Dmak, Mskhali, Kangun and Rkatsiteli. Armenia has excellent conditions for growing grapes, the best grapes come from the Ararat Valley, located at the foot of Mount Ararat. In 1999, Pernod Ricard purchased the Yerevan Brandy Company for $30 million. Ararat offers an extremely wide and diverse range of brandies, which are aged from three to fifty years. The three-year-old presented here is the first step to getting to know it.
Nose: slightly alcoholic, caramel, buttered toast, roasted peanuts, a pinch of cinnamon and white pepper and some oak.
Palate: caramel, vanilla sugar, sugared nuts, raisins, dried apricots, mulled wine spice and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of caramel, allspice, a bit of dried fruit and oak tannins.
