Product description
Jin Jiji Dry Gin is a unique Indian gin formulated with local botanicals.
The only non-Indian ingredient is Macedonian juniper. Its creators are master sommeliers Ken Fredrickson and Ansh Khanna, two admirers of local flora, and their mission was to create an alcoholic beverage that best represents India. The country is home to dozens of herbs and spices used in cuisines around the world. The word “jiji” comes from the Hindi “jijivishna,” meaning “lust for life.” This gin is distilled almost entirely from local botanicals, including Himalayan juniper, coriander seed, Darjeeling tea, angelica root, cashew nuts, local lemon peel, cardamom, ginger, garlic, and tulsi. The latter, commonly known as “holy basil,” is used in Ayurvedic medicine. The gin is distilled at a small distillery in Goa in traditional copper stills.
The aromatic bouquet is dominated by notes of juniper, complemented by citrus, cloves, a pinch of pepper and garlic. The taste is again juniper, black tea, a bit of pepper and coriander and a delicate note of nuts. We recommend serving with Fever Tree Indian Tonic with a slice of lemon or in a Gimlet cocktail.
