Product description
Port Askaig is a whisky brand (not a distillery) from the Elixir Distillers portfolio of Sukhinder Singh, previously owner of The Whisky Exchange.
It debuted in 2009 and is named after the ferry port on the Islay Island located near the Caol Ila Distillery. We do not know which distillery on the island is behind the Port Askaig brand. Many whisky connoisseurs believe that it is Caol Ila, although we have heard unofficially that this brand is associated with more than one distillery. Port Askaig is always bottled without chill filtration and with a natural color. The whisky presented here, distilled in 2014, was aged in three hogshead casks (American oak) and one sherry cask and bottled in March 2023 for the Belgian company The Nectar. The edition consisted of 1,482 bottles.
