Product description
Charles Smith founded his company in 2001 after spending several years traveling to other Washington wineries, studying the ins and outs of viticulture and winemaking, and planting his own vines in 1999. Over the years, he has created many of his own wine brands, including some reserved. Combined production of all labels is 650,000 cases per year, making him one of the top producers in the region.
In all of his vineyards, Charles places great emphasis on sustainable agriculture, using traditional farming methods and minimizing the use of chemicals in both vineyards and winemaking. He sells mainly single-varietal products under his labels, expressing his style and showing that it is possible to make quality wines at an affordable price.
Chateau Smith Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 /14.5%/ 0.75l
Wine composed of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, with small additions of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The grapes used for production were hand-picked, then selected and subjected to the vinification process. Then it matures on the lees for 10 months, in French oak barrels, of which 40% were new barrels. On the nose, there is a very complex and intense, but not devoid of harmony, combination of dark fruit aromas, including blueberries, blackberries and blueberries, with an accent of forest litter. On the palate, it is round, impressing with a combination of fruit flavors, with notes of barrel and juicy, soft tannin. The finish is long, with a lasting combination of fruit and oak flavors.
It tastes best when served at a temperature of 16-18 degrees. It is worth decanting before serving to ensure an optimal level of aeration and separation of sediment from the wine. In culinary combinations, it works well with grilled red meats, roast lamb in mushroom sauce, or aromatic, good quality cheeses.
