Product description
Glenturret, based in Perthshire in the southern Highlands, is Scotland's oldest distillery.
It was registered in 1775, but sources prove that whisky was produced there as early as 1717. In the years 1921-1959 the distillery did not distill, the distilling equipment was removed from it, and the buildings were used to store grain. After a general renovation, the plant resumed production under the ownership of James Fairlie. Subsequent owners were Rèmy Cointreau (1981), Highland Distillers (1990), and since 2019, the Lalique Company and one of its main shareholders, Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss. The Glenturret presented here is a drink from another era. The whisky was distilled in 1972, after 30 years of maturation, and was bottled at 47% abv in an edition of only 522 bottles.
