As We Get It (Highland), Ian Macleod & Co. Ltd / 62.3% / 0.7l

The As We Get It series debuted at the beginning of the new century as part of the Ian Macleod Distillers offering and has gained a large following over the last few years.

It consists of single malt whiskies from undisclosed distilleries in Islay and the Highlands, bottled as we [they] get it, i.e. in the form in which they were purchased by the bottler. The first editions offered whiskies aged 8 years, the latest ones have no age statement, only the producer's assurance that "the maturation lasted many years". The Ian Macleod Company currently owns three distilleries: Glengoyne in the Highlands, Tamdhu in Speyside and Rosebank in the Lowlands. Here we present As We Get It from April 2021, containing whisky from the Highlands bottled at 62.3% abv.

Nose: barley malt, toffee, honey, brown sugar, milk chocolate, dried apricots, pears, cinnamon, notes of wax and sherry-soaked oak.

Palate : milk chocolate, honey, vanilla, blackberries, strawberries, orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, light notes of nuts and oak.

Finish: medium long, with notes of mixed berries, orange peel, nougat, mocha, holiday spices and oak.
