Product description
Grand Old Parr whisky made its debut in the early 20th century in the offering of Greenlees Brothers, a family company that joined the ranks of whisky producers in 1870.
Its patron is Thomas Parr, who died in 1635 at the age of 152 (his remains lie in Westminster Cathedral to this day). Rumour has it that at the age of 100, Parr sired offspring and duly fulfilled the role of a parent. The key component of the blend is the single malt Glendullan, supplemented by Cragganmore and Aultmore. The success of the Old Parr brand led to the acquisition of Glendullan Distillery in 1919, but just 7 years later the assets of the Greenlees brothers were transferred to the portfolio of the DCL concern. Old Parr whisky is currently owned by Diageo and is produced mainly for the American and Japanese markets.
