Product description
Condesa Gin is produced by Flor de Luna, a micro-distillery based in the center of Mexico City.
Founded by Hillhamn Salome in 2015 when she was just 18, it is probably the only distillery owned and operated by women. The brand takes its name from La Condesa, a green oasis in the heart of Mexico City where it is produced. The gin is inspired by local botanicals often used in rituals and ceremonies; all the ingredients are sourced from Mexico, mostly from women-owned farms. The Condesa Clásica formula includes juniper berries, white sage, jasmine, coriander seed, elderflower, lavender, rosemary, lemon verbena, lime and orange peel, myrrh and palo santo (Bursera graveolens). According to Salome, “the herbs free us from negative energy, the flowers attract love, and the resin broadens our horizons.” Ten botanicals are macerated in grain spirit distilled from corn, rye, wheat and barley; palo santo, myrrh and jasmine are macerated separately, and the decoction acts as a balancing agent. In 2016, Condesa Gin Clásica won a gold medal at the International Spirits Competition.
Condesa Clásica is an extraordinary gin, where juniper, sage, rosemary, coriander and citrus zesty balance the bitterness of myrrh and palo santo and the floral notes of jasmine. This is a dream gin for a Dry Martini.
