Product description
Melbourne-based Starward Distillery is a 2008 investment by David Vitale.
In 2016, after a large injection of funding from Distill Ventures, a subsidiary of Diageo, the distillery moved to a new location and increased its production capacity to 250,000 litres per year. Starward Fortis is a whisky distilled from locally grown barley and aged in bourbon and red wine barrels. The Batch #2 presented here hit the market in 2020. Two years later, Starward Distillery won the most medals at the annual World Spirits Competition in San Francisco – 12 double gold and 3 gold, and the title of Most Awarded Distillery of the Year. It is the first Australian distillery to receive this distinction.
