Product description
Aqua Luce (or Aqva Lvce) is an Italian gin with an extraordinary history.
During World War I, Italian soldier Antonio Levarian tasted gin for the first time in his life (it was brought by a British soldier during a brief ceasefire). The Italian was so enchanted by the drink that even before the end of hostilities, he stopped building mines and focused on constructing a distillation device and using it to produce gin. Thanks to his comrade in arms, Antonio managed to recreate one of the original formulas, according to which today's Aqua Luce is distilled. It contains 12 botanical ingredients, the most important of which are: juniper berries, bay leaves, hops, coriander, cumin and angelica. We do not know the complete list, but we do know that it also includes pink grapefruit, apricots and lemons. They are subjected to a 15-day maceration and then distilled in copper stills from 1947 at Distilleria Dell'Alpe.
Aqua Luce is a gin with a floral aroma and flavor palette, notes of a spring mountain meadow, juniper, mountain herbs, a trace of citrus and hop bitterness. We recommend serving with Fentimans Connoisseurs Tonic with the addition of an orange slice or with Fentimans Grapefruit Tonic.
