Tanaka is a whisky brand from the portfolio of San Foods Company Ltd, specifically its Vietnamese branch Tanaka Co. Ltd.
San Foods was founded in 1976, its headquarters is in Nirasaki in Yamanashi Prefecture, the Vietnamese branch has been operating since 1995 in Ho Chi Minh City (the company also has a representative office in Thailand). The creator of the whisky is Atsushi Tanaka, the son of the company's president, Ryoji Tanaka, a great lover of this drink. His CV also includes the Japanese whisky Niwakami and gin Kirifuji. Tanaka whisky is distilled in Vietnam from black rice, corn and barley malt and aged for three years in oak barrels.
Nose : burnt toast, cornflakes, vanilla, brown sugar, nut shells, baked apples, hints of licorice and oak.
Palate: caramel, vanilla, candied nuts, licorice, apples, white pepper, notes of hay and oak.
Finish: not too long, with notes of cereal, toast, brown sugar, a pinch of spice and licorice.
