Product description
A series of wines introduced to the market by actor John Malkovich. All the grapes come from the actor's family estate in the French Luberon, which he acquired in the mid-1980s. The first plantings appeared only in 2008, the actor focused on Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir, which in turn has a long tradition of cultivation in this region, dating back to the times of Louis XIV. An interesting fact is that the 10-hectare estate is located on an ancient lake, which is also reflected in the name of the wines - quelles means wells in French, there are 14 of them on the entire surface of the vineyard, and the grapes have adequate access to water if they grow long enough roots.
The wines are available under the lesser-known IGP, are the product of a typical boutique winery, but are gaining more and more recognition, especially among well-known names in the wine world.
Fermented in stainless steel vats for 10 days, with constantly controlled temperature and daily pumping, after which it is macerated for another 10 days. Then it is aged in new oak barrels for 12 months. Very well structured, harmonious. On the nose aromas of red fruits with a touch of blackberry, in the background a bit of smoke, leather accents, violets and geranium. Round on the palate, with clearly marked fruit, accompanying also during the long finish, where herbal accents also appear.
The whole thing is complemented by the fact that it is an organic wine, which highlights the producer's awareness of all ecological standards.
