Product description
In the words of Ballantine's master blender Sandy Hyslop, "Ballantine's 17 year old is a blend of over 40 single malt and single grain whiskies from across Scotland, of which Glenburgie, Miltonduff, Glentauchers and Scapa play a monumental role for any Ballantine blender."
In 2012, Mr. Hyslop launched the Signature Distillers Edition series, consisting of four limited editions of the 17-year-old, each highlighting one of the four pillars of the formula. The third edition, Miltonduff, was released in May 2013. Miltonduff Distillery is based in Speyside and has been operating since 1824; it currently has three pairs of stills and produces 5.8 million litres of distillate annually. Ballantine's has been the second most popular Scotch whisky (behind Johnnie Walker) for years; it closed 2021 with sales of over 8.7 million cases.
