Mt.Brave Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2013 /14.5%/ 0.75l
Product description
The vineyard, founded several decades ago, was initially called Chateau Potelle Vineyard. Wine production on Veeder Mountain dates back to the 1860s, and was started by one of the recognized pioneers of winemaking in Napa Valley – Captain Stalham Wing. Although the mountain stretches for 25 square miles, only less than 2 percent of the area is planted with vines, additionally giving the lowest yields in the region. The climate here is very different from the rest of the region, temperatures can be as much as 15 degrees lower, and because of the slow ripening of the grapes, the harvest time extends even into November.
In 2007, the Winery of the Year project began to evolve, thanks to Chris Carpenter, a winemaker with a wealth of experience, acquired among others with the Antinori family in Italy. Paying homage to the founders of the winery, as well as the indigenous people of the region, he tirelessly delivers extraordinary experiences enclosed in bottles.
Wine produced from the Cabernet Sauvignon variety, which, due to the conditions in which it is grown, produces smaller than usual fruit, with an excellent concentration of flavors and aromas. After fermentation, it matures in oak barrels. On the nose, it is very rich and expressive, initially presenting aromas of blackberries and dark cherries, developing in the background towards dark chocolate with a touch of anise. On the palate, it is complex and full, with fruitiness corresponding to juicy tannin and well-balanced acidity. The finish is long and structured, with a bit of aftertaste of spicy spices.
Best served at a temperature of 16-18 degrees. Decanting is recommended to remove sediment and ensure optimal aeration. In culinary combinations, it will work well with red meats, preferably grilled, or in heavier sauces. It will also be a good companion to mature and hard cheeses.
