Emil Bauer Bullshit! Drink a Real Grauburgunder 2020 / 13%/0.75l
Product description
Grauburgunder = Pinot Grigio
A family winery, which was founded in the 1920s by Emil Bauer in the center of the town of Nussdorf, surrounded by beautiful vineyards of the Palatinate. The company was gradually expanded by the father and uncle of the current owners, until it finally passed into the hands of Alexander and Martin Bauer, who gave it a new, unique look. It is worth mentioning that the winery has the opportunity to mark its wines with the Fair 'n Green logo - it is awarded only when producers maintain the highest standards in viticulture and winemaking, regarding environmentally friendly production, social responsibility and appropriate, developmental management.
It is worth mentioning, and in fact it is impossible not to notice, that the labels differ quite significantly from other producers. As a marketing specialist, Martin Bauer knows perfectly well how to attract the attention of customers with catchy slogans on his bottles. This shows that wines from the Palatinate do not have to be conservative and even there you can find a bit of madness, of course while maintaining the appropriate quality.
Emil Bauer Bullshit! Drink a Real Grauburgunder
Wine made from 100% Pinot Gris grapes ripening in the clay-limestone soil of the Palatinate. Once ripe, the grapes are harvested at the coolest possible time of day to preserve as many aromas as possible. After selection, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, then the wine matures on the fine lees for several months. On the nose it is quite rich, full of aromas of nuts, pears and citrus. On the palate it has a good texture, is clean and develops very harmoniously the flavors of almonds, raisins and a touch of pineapple. The finish is moderately long and quite subtle, with a hint of dried fruit emerging.
It tastes best served at a temperature of 8-10 degrees. In culinary combinations, it works well with seafood, fried fish and light pasta, but also with lamb and young game. It is also good to combine it with dishes without meat, such as grilled vegetables with the addition of soft cheeses.
