Product description
Yukon Jack is a liqueur with a somewhat mysterious history, made on the basis of Canadian whiskey. It appeared in the States in the 1970s in the offer of Heublein Inc., an importer and distributor of food products and alcoholic beverages.
In 1982, Hublein Inc. was acquired by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., and five years later by Grand Metropolitan; the latter merged with Guinness in 1997 to form Diageo. In 2018, Diageo sold the rights to Yukon Jack and a dozen other brands to privately held Sazerac Company of New Orleans for $550 million. Yukon Jack is currently produced at the Valleyfield Distillery in Quebec. The brand is likely named after 19th-century gold prospector Jack McQuesten, who was exploring the Yukon at the time. The Yukon Jack Fire presented here is blended with cinnamon and honey and bottled at 50% abv.
