Wilson & Morgan was founded in 1992 by Fabio Rossi, a member of a famous Venetian wine merchant family.

In 1960, his father Mario began importing blended Scotch whisky, and around 20 years later, he expanded the range to include single malts. Fabio, who heads the family company, selects the barrels himself. An oenologist by education, he is guided by one principle when choosing whisky – trust your senses and instincts. The Ben Nevis presented here, distilled in 1996, spent 18 years in a 1965 butt sherry cask, and was bottled in 2015 at cask strength (57.2% abv) in the Barrel Selection series in an edition of 594 bottles.

Nose : shy notes of sherry, honey, buttered toast, raisins, prunes, roasted nuts and almonds, nutmeg, notes of tobacco, leather and wax.

Palate: fruity, nectarines, oranges, apricots, coffee, milk chocolate, walnuts, toffee, caramel, white pepper, vanilla, notes of leather and oak.

Finish: long, with notes of sweet dried fruit, pepper, roasted nuts, nutmeg, a touch of leather and oak.
