An old, now collector's edition of Cardhu 12 years old, in our opinion dating from the early 1980s.

Cardhu (Gaelic for “black rock”) has been a key component of Johnnie Walker blends for over a century (the Walkers bought the distillery in 1893). Today, it belongs to Diageo and produces 3.4 million liters of distillate per year, using 100% of its potential. Most of the production is intended for the Johnnie Walker brand, while Cardhu Single Malt records annual sales (2018) of around 3 million bottles.

Aroma : sweet, slightly malty, with notes of vanilla, honey and garden flowers.

Taste : mild, cereal flakes, blades of dry grass, vanilla, honey and delicate oak notes.

Finish: not too long, apricots, toffee and toasted oak.
