The Ultimate Whisky Company is a Dutch company based in Amersfoort. Founded in 1994 by Han and Maurice van Wees, it initially specialised in miniature editions.

The Ultimate whiskies are bottled without chill filtration, either at cask strength or at 46% ABV. Since 1994, over 1,000 editions of whiskies have been released under the Ultimate banner. The Glen Grant presented here is the anniversary, 900th cask of whisky released in this collection. Distilled on 18th March 1997, it spent over 21 years in hogshead cask no. 38894. Bottled at cask strength (57.8% ABV) and without chill filtration on 6th September 2018 in an edition of 270 bottles.

Nose: perfectly balanced, summer meadow, oranges, pineapples, nectarines, apples, honey, vanilla, candied nuts, lemongrass, cinnamon, notes of forest floor and oak.

Palate : slightly oily, honey, vanilla cream, toffee apples, dried apricots, candied orange and lemon peel, walnuts, licorice, a touch of cinnamon and cardamom and a light bitterness of oak.

Finish : long and warming, with notes of honey, vanilla, toffee, fruit candy, cinnamon, candied ginger and oak tannins.
