Product description
The Knob Creek brand debuted in 1992. It was a 9-year-old bourbon, part of Jim Beam's Small Batch collection.
The whiskey is named after a farm about 30 minutes south of Bardstown, where future US President Abraham Lincoln spent his childhood. (The label features a press clipping from The Knob Creek News dated October 23, 1935.) In 2012, the Knob Creek brand was expanded to include a straight rye whiskey, distilled using a formula of 55% rye, 35% corn, and 10% malted barley. It is bottled without an age statement, unofficially we have learned that the distillates used in its blend are aged from five to nine years.
Aroma: vanilla, milk fudge, caramel, red currants, cloves, cinnamon, fresh ginger, toasted rye bread and a handful of herbs from the garden.
Taste : herbal-spicy, cinnamon, nutmeg, white pepper, herbal mixture, vanilla, roasted peanuts, cranberries for meat and a trace of mint.
Finish : medium long, rye spiciness, caramel, vanilla, charred oak and a light hint of leather.
