Product description
"I've been through the desert on a horse with no name" sang the band America in 1971.
To what extent this piece inspired the creators of the drink presented here remains an open question. Bourbon Horse with no Name is a product of The Horse's Spirit Company, founded in 2020, released in cooperation with Firestone & Robertson Distillery based in Fort Worth, Texas. This bourbon, distilled from a mash of 71% Texas yellow corn, 21% winter wheat and 8% six-row barley, is "seasoned" with a distillate obtained from locally grown, hot habanero peppers after a four-year maturation. The share of said distillate in the finished drink is about 2%.
Nose: fruity and spicy, bananas, coconut flakes, candied ginger, cinnamon, buttered wholemeal toast, notes of smoky peppers and oak.
Palate: grilled peppers and corn on the cob, vanilla, caramel, honey, cinnamon, black pepper, a dash of anise and toasted oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of grilled vegetables, dried tomatoes, vanilla, cinnamon and oak.
